Arclight or Arc Light is the general term for the use of B52 bombers to provide CAS (Close Air Support), the title was first used as the monicer for mission Operation Arc Light in 1965; that mission consisted in part the deployment of B-52F Stratofortresses as conventional bombers from bases in the US to Guam to support ground combat operations in Vietnam.
